Just happened to me again today, as many times before. While they are speaking I go along and pretend to grasp it or whatever, then about a minute or less later figure it out. Guess this must happen with many Koreans confronted by English too. Hard to follow along but if the message is brief and not too difficult, a bit later the meaning clicks in after mental translation.
