Is a recruiter the only way for a newbie? The number of horror strories I've read on these guys are quite scary, and I don't want next year to be the single biggest pain in my life. All three that have contacted me so far (almost immediately!) seem none concerned about my skills, qualities or even ME, and more with getting someone over there and soon.
Anyway... let the job hunting continue. |

It's true, they aren't particularly concerned with your 'skills, qualities or even' YOU. It isn't the recruiters' fault. It's the system here.
They waste enormous amounts of money flying people over, hoping an untrained, differently-educated person will somehow turn out to be a good teacher and then blaming the person for not having a clue.
They tend to run their 'educational' institutions with untrained otherwise-educated people at the helm and then are upset that it doesn't turn out the way they had dreamed.
The harsh reality is that 90% of the employers in Korea only want a warm body, preferably a young, white female body, but a warm body. [/quote] |
