To get any meaningful answers you'll have to post the whole contract. Even then, the contract is not the rule, but the relationship, and what kind of boss you have. Also, there is always something not mentioned in the contract. Read the cautions about the deductions from your paycheque on this site very carefully and follow up on checking everything. Don't lose your temper but don't be a wuss. When you are not happy, say so calmly, be reasonable, show some ability to give on some issues so you can take on the bigger ones. Be ready for change-ups.
Good Luck. |

so is that 33 classes of 50 minutes or 33 hours of 50 minute classes (39 classes per week)?
The current PS school wage is about 25k per 50 minute class
(based on a rookie salary of 2 mil per month for 92 classes (40 minutes each) per month).
With 21 - 23 working days per calendar month (there aren't many red days next year) and 33 classes of 50 minutes per week you would be working about 140 classes per month (big workload) and SHOULD be getting 3.5 million at rookie rates for said workload.
EVEN if you only work 128 classes per month you should not get less than 3.2 mil for that work load. At 18,333 per class (common hakwon rate) you should still get 2.6 million.
You can get a salary of 2.2-2.4 (depending on location) for NO experience, no credentials (other than a BA) and only 120 classes of 50 minutes per month (18,333 per class and even this is still lower (per class hour) than a rookie at a PS)
Why in Ghods name would you work 12+ more classes per week for free?

Ask how many classes you are expected to teach per day. 25-30 classes per week would be ok if pay is 2.4. Ask about breaks between classes, tax rate, pension receipts, and health card. |

I say, "hell no." I need 3.2 mil to do that much damned work. You can teach 24 40 minute classes a week for 2.5. |

If you have TEFL experience you should get at least 2.5 for that kind of workload. If you don't you should still get at least 2.3. 33 50-minute lessons a week is a *lot* of work, even if they're smaller classes. |

33 hours may not sound like a lot but it's way way too much work.
The average public school expects teachers to teach 22 45 min classes per week and the salary ranges from 1.8-2.7. 33 hours of PS will burn you out in a year. |
