I extended my contract for 6 mths with a one mill bonus but no holidays. The school closed for 3 days in this time.
Is it kosher for them to deduct this from my pay? |

If you had agreed to no holidays, then you shouldn't be paid for legal holidays. If the school closed for a vacation then you should get your money |

You like the school well enough to sign on for 6 more months, you've agreed to no holidays, they gave you a thousand dollar bonus.
3 days free to enjoy yourself? Damn, thats harsh. |

You might be right, I appreciate people's perspective on this. I would also put it in the context of their extreme inflexibilty when I've wanted time off, and attempts to short-change me on holiday pay at the end of my last contract.
I also think if a business chooses not to operate on a particular day - for whatever reason(s) - then employees should not be financially penalised because of this. Although, I don't know how this relates to employment law in this country. |

The OP didn't explain what kind of school this is. Is the OP an hourly employee or a salaried employee. It makes a difference. |
