The SANYO Xacti VPC-HD2 has a very significant edge over the others. It records video at 1280x720 resolution, perfect for 720p high-definition display on todays high-definition televisions.
In addition to being a high-definition video camera, the HD2 is also a 7 megapixel digital-camera. All videos and still images are stored on a SD or a SDHC Memory Card (sold separately) that helps account for the camera's compact size and minimal weight. In fact, with no tape to que up, the HD2 has a super fast start-up time that can have you recording in as little as 1.7 seconds. A 10x Optical Zoom Lens (38mm to 380mm on a 35mm camera) and a 10x digital-zoom keep you close up on the action. The HD2 features a SANYO high capacity rechargeable Lithium-ion battery is included for a long 60 minutes of recording time. The SANYO Xacti HD2 features a digital image stabilization that works across the full shooting range from wide-angle to telephoto. Using an original corrective algorithm developed by SANYO, the HD2 is able to distinguish between trembling hands and camera work such as panning and tilting.
A new docking station provides a fully digital HDMI interface allowing you to transport your high-definition content to the latest HDTVs and other high-definition recording devices without loss. The HD2 even recharges its internal battery when nested in the docking station.[img][/img]

Was somewhat of an impulse buy in the first place. My wife and I are about to have a kid and thought a video camera with good still capabilities would be a good idea. After rethinking it, we think it would be better to get a good still camera with video. We take way more pics than video.
Anyway, we bought it at Yongsan and when we tried to return it they wouldn't let us. They said we could exchange it for something else, but the prices they wanted were baked. I would rather sell it and use the proceeds to buy the still camera we want. |

I have a samsung cam I just got in yongsan for 250 that is 6 megapixel, does really decent video, and even mp3 playback with a headphone jack. Would you want to trade and me pay the cash difference perhaps? Had this camera for a little over a month, with box, receipt and everything.
let me know,
Dave. |

What is the make and model of the samsung camera you bought? Video pixel resolution and fps? I have something specific in mind that I want to buy, but I am always open to hearing all options. |

there are two model numbers on the bottom.. SDC-K605, and SEC-SDCK60. Its from samsung. the resolution is 30 fps for both 320X240, or 640X480. Here is an obscure Korean site I found by searching the model number... I have the silver one. http://hj.sfunzy.com/sdck60/sdck60.html
let me know!
thanks,
Dave. |

Going for a good still camera with video capabilities is the way to go. Hope you sell your Xacti. I used to video tape my kid with a handycam, but it's so much easier to bring along a little still camera wherever you go. |
