Does anyone know where to find 한글 stickers for keyboards? I'm bringing back a laptop from the US next week. TIA.

I've seen them at all the accessory shops in Yongsan. I think they go for about 2,000 won. Me, I'm too lazy to buy them and apply them to my laptop keyboard -it's done wonders for my Korean typing since I have to memorize the key locations.

Thanks--I'll check them out sometime after I'm back in Korea. You're right--it would improve my Korean typing to not have them on the keyboard, but I'm rather lazy.

Instead of using stickers on my keyboard, I printed out a Hangeul keyboard layout and taped it to the wall above my computer. I left it there until I no longer needed to sneak peeks at it.

Something that has done wonders for my typing in Korean is to go to a nice (meaning they have real no-smoking sections actually separated by a physical barrier from the stench) PC bang. Part of Hangeul Office is a typing tutor program. I try to fit in two hours a week. Of course, I refuse to download the program onto my own computer as it's Korean software.

I got mine from the Kyobo at Seohyeon... I assume the other Kyobos carry them as well.

As it happens, I was until yesterday in the market for the very same thing, Bluelake. While abroad I've recently purchased my very first English-only-keyboard computer (a laptop) in well over 10 years, along with my very first English OS (Vista) in as many years.

I've installed Korean IME on it, and that's enough for what little hangul I need to type on holiday. But I'm the world's worst typist (English, Hangul, anything, makes no difference) so I really do need those hangul keyboard stickers. Badly.

So I had my *operatives* in Seoul scout around, and now I have two sets of hangul keyboard stickers (for black keyboards) waiting for me: one from Yongpoong and the other from Kyobo. Specifically, from their main stores in beautiful Jongno. One set is laminated paper, the other clear cellophane.

But I've since stumbled upon these sexy alternatives and will almost certainly be shelling out 10x more to obtain them. They're painfully stylish, they have integrity beyond words, they have English, Korean AND Japanese for that intimidating "Mr. Joe Pro Asian Languages" look, and in every other way put the cheaper alternatives to suicidal shame.

Linko carries them too.

I had how they eventually rub off though. I would love to find out how to pop out the keys on my laptop and just straight replace them with Korean keys. But when I ask around, everyone looks at me like I'm crazy.

If you get the clear cellophane ones with white lettering (from Yongpoong I'm sure, though not from Kyobo I think) those will not rub off, as the lettering is part of the plastic sticker itself. It's the laminated paper ones that I can see rubbing off. Or just splurge like me and get a set of those ritzy designer-original metal ones. They're handsomely engraved, they look super-durable, and you'll be the only kid on your block to have them! They run 15~20,000 won a set, the ones I've found.

JG,

Those are some very interesting stickers for sure. This laptop is my first English keyboard computer in twenty years; even with the computers I've bought for my folks over the years, I've always brought Korean keyboards with me to replace the English ones.

I will look around (or ask friends to do so for me) at the places mentioned in this thread. Again, thanks to everyone.
