So a friend of mine is coming to visit me in a few days (I'm PUMPED!), and he wants tobring me some unprocessed cheese, a few bricks of it. (The small prewrapped bricks, like you get at Wal-Mart.) What are the rules, if any, for declaring them?

If it's sealed, it shouldn't be a problem. Does it need to be cold? I've never read anything about packed food being prohibited.

Is it from the USA? Then it may be denied, like the beef, because Americans don't care about Korean hostages.

Just don't wrap it with tape with wires leading out of it.

In one case last September, a couple in Baltimore, Maryland, checked a plastic bag with a block of processed cheese taped to another plastic bag containing a cell phone charger.

When I came in from China the sign only had pictures of fresh fruits.
I went through nothing to declare. They X-rayed my bags but said
nothing about the packaged beef jerky. I think the key is if you have
enough to be used for resale.
