Has anyone worked nights? I'm not too fond of doing it because I hate working nights where I'm from. However, I think it would be cool because I could explore Korea during the day. But then I wonder what about when the newness wears off or when I want to go out in the evenings and I'm just getting off work at 10 or 10:30 at night. Will it be worth it, to have days off? Some jobs I look at seem cool except they are for night shifts. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

A fair number of people get off work around 9ish. Because of that if you are looking to socialize, the evenings start late accordingly. Or that's what I've found.

Personally, I like nights, I finish at 9:30. I wake up early, go to a korean clas in the morning, go have coffee and read in the afternoon, meet friends, go to a book store, wander around, etc....
Sure, by 5 when I start work I'm kinda tired and don't want to work, but I do, and the energy comes. You have no choice but to do it. It's better than working morning and being kinda tired at 5 and then deciding, well, I can go home and veg if I want, I don't HAVE TO study, meet friends, explore, etc....
I'd rather be tired at work after enjoying my day, than tired after work and not enjoying my day.
that's just me though. And... If you want to go out and drink, you can drink all night, blow off the class, coffee, etc and still be fine for work. That's a nice option to have every few weeks.

Make sure you're not working a spilt shift. Don't listen to the recruiter when he tells you" oh yea split shift,BUT they'll try to keep your class together and you'll have plenty of free time during the day." Since I start i get more and more clases. 630am-930am then back at 1030am-1210pm. go home eat pass out and back to work from 5pm-10pm. Sometimes you wake up and you don't know if it's 7am or 7pm. You end up sleeping about 2 or 3 hours at night and 3 or 4 hours in the day. Needless to say I have grey hair now, smoke like John Wayne, and I have the body of Fiona Apple. I hear the night life during the week is great though!!!!

I work from 3:30-9:30 and really like it. Everything starts here in Cheonan at like 11:00 so you can still go out after work. In fact, working days cuts into your social life because most people work nights. Getting up at 8:00 after a night out starting at 11:00 doesn't last too long.

I usually get up around 9:00 and that means I have 6 hours to cook, clean my house, email, meet friends, read, study, run, hike, etc. So nice. I'd rather not be working when it's sunny during the day and I can actually do stuff.

I found a job that starts at 10am - I figured that would be perfect for me because I hate having to wake up really early, but I also hate having to wait all day before going to work at 5 or whatever. Knowing that I have to go to work later on casts a pall over my free time. At least that's always how it's been at home. It's individual, though, so you should probably just take whatever schedule you'd prefer if you were in your home country.

Thanks to everyone. I really wanted to say thanks because everyone gave me different points of view and something to think about. I'm still not absolutely sure either way, but working at night doesn't seem so bad. But I think I can work either way. I can be a morning person or a night person, so I guess I'll be even more open-minded in my search.
