I'm relatively new to Seoul, and I am looking to find either an E-Mart or a Lotte Mart close (by subway) to Gireum Station (line 4). There isn't much around my neighborhood, so I'm wondering where people who live around here usually go shopping for food and basic household items beyond what is available at the smaller local grocery stores. After searching the forum, I saw that there is an E-Mart near Chang-dong station...how is it? Also, is it easy to find after exiting the subway? Thanks in advance for any help.

Go out of exit 2 by Chang Dong Stn, and then turn left. Walk straight for a bit and you will see the E-Mart.

As for Gireum Stn, you are smack-bam right by one of the largest red light districts in South Korea.

Not much around there to speak of, really. There is a Costco over by Sangbon Station on Line #7. We usually take the subway there and a taxi back. There is a little grocery store down around Hyehwa Station, as well. Best of luck to you.

It's not a Lotte Mart, but there is a Lotte Department store and a Hyundai Department store one stop away from you at Miasamgeori station. Each are a little walk from the station, though, but the buses very close to them. They both have a supermarket in the bottom.
