I've read in several posts that a humidifier is absolutely essential in the winter. I didn't have one the last time I was in Korea, but I thought I'd ask you all about whether I should get one this time.
Also, what are the retail prices for them? Thanks.

Go to an electrical store, like Hi-Mart, or supermarket. They're not hard to find.

I found this thread pretty useful at the time, and I think you will too.

A succinct and yet fairly comprehensive discussion of humidifiers in Korea, which is also the second hit if one is to type 'humidifiers' into the search thingy, but I am certainly not one to complain about people not using the search thingy because it just doesn't feel the same as reaching out to the masses with a new thread. Except when it's a stupid question. Stupid-question-non-search-thingy-using-repeat-thread-posters should should be beaten, fisted and tarred and feathered in a cold ramien pancake. But this is not a stupid question.

They are posted quite regularly in the Buy and Sell forum and you can get a nice price for one, I got mine for 20,000 and I saw it on a online site for over 100,000...it won't be a Prada, but only a moron would want a Prada humidifier anyway... Very Happy

It gets really dry in the winter, and when that combines with the air pollution, it makes the inside of your nose feel like you've been snorting sand...oh, how I long for those days.

I had the use of a really great one last winter and ran it non-stop. I had shockingly good health. I'm going to get another good one when I have to give this one back. Highly recommended, and easy to pick up at any appliance store or big-box store.

The really hard thing is to find one which doesn't leave the white dust all over your apartment.
