Ok - so if you weren't an english teacher, and you could be ANYTHING you wanted to be here in Korea, how would you go about making the most money?

Assume that all resources are available to you, and visas aren't an issue...

Just a fun diversion, that's all Laughing

I often kid my wife that I'm going to by a Bongo truck and sell onions at 6am with the volume turned up to ludicrous level.

i'd open up a real sports bar, with real sports bar food. all sports, all the time. have tons of TV's...live sports, taped sports, any kind of sports w/ a focus on the KBO, KBL, K-League (to get natives in the door) and also on the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS (j/k) and all the major soccer leagues around the world. Nothing could be better than watching the Doosan Bears vs. LG Twins on a big screen while eating some hot wings and drinking some beer.

papparazzi PI!!

in the rest of the world a good pic of ex princess diana would make you 100.000-1million dollars.. I mean a good one!

other stars like julia, brad, mel, tom, etc.. you get them in a rare moment you're made..

so why compare tom cruise to ummmm che min su.. becuase.. koreans love that stuff..
if you were real sleezy, slime, dirty photographer you could get some momey shots, like some famous singer or actress puking or walking in a love motel! JESUS!! you're made, first thing I would do is send a copy to that persons agent, and say this is going into tomorrow papers!!!
but for a good price I will keep it out!! blackmail? not really just saying its going into the papers thought you would like to no...

hahahahaha koreans would pay, they are so affraid to lose face etc..
where in the states if it was johhny depp throwing up we would say YEAH COOL MAN!!!! AWESOME!! but here no no no!! you're OVER!!

Strangely enough, I'd open a hagwon also.

I'd teach mostly and delegate other responisibilites to Koreans cuz they speak the language.
8-10 kids per class @ 150,000 won per month = 1.2 - 1.5 mil x 6 classes per day = 7.2 - 9.0 mil per month.

Add another foreign teacher to double income, that's 14.4 - 18.0 per month.

Minus foreign teacher's and Korean teacher's salary, utilities, books and supplies, insurance.

Rent would be small as I would try to put down as much key money as I could. Pay cash for a hagwon bus, just paying maintenance.

Hagwons seems to be very low overhead.

That's still raking in pretty good money.

Believe it or not, small private hakwons are TAX FREE!!!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
