I want to know if my friends there have been trapped by the typhoon.

It was raining a little while ago. Now it seems to have stopped for a while.

Bloody cold. The sun is rising though and I can see a beautiful mist.

No typhoon hit here this month.

The typhoons of June and July always turn before they make it this far north to Korea. But in August and September the typhoons continue their ascent and sometimes hit the peninsula.

Korea is in that inbetween part of summer, after the heavy Monsoon rains and before the stormy typhoon rains. If it'll rain over this middle 3-4 week part of summer it'll be be just normal sprinkly type from mainland asia and little repreave from the summer heat.

30+ temperatures and humidity galore.

Fortunately I leave this morning for the southern coast and nine days at the beach Cool

In Costa Rica it's perfect. 82 degrees average year round, rated by National Geographic as the best climate on earth.

Today in the Fraser Valley and New Westminster it was lovely, in the mid-20s, with beautiful, clear skies. For an afternoon walk along the Lonsdale Quay and an evening at the Mission Folk Festival it couldn't have possibly been better.

I'm in the Cheonan-Asan area temporarily and it's mostly overcast with sunny spells, hot and humid. A small shower and some lightning cooled us down today, having been horribly sticky in the late morning.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, this July has been much less rainy than last. I've also been bitten substantially less.

Neato. Whereabouts?

Today in Cheonan we had a massive thunder and lightning show for about an hour early this afternoon. Did a good job of killing the disgusting humidity we've been having for the past few days. I'll sleep well tonight.
