INSURANCE INDUSTRY...it's a big ass scam now gone wrong.
50 million uninsured Americans...the solution now seems to be to make it a LAW that they MUST buy insurance.
What kind of solution is that? This concept that some third party must make profits is built into the system. Bad idea to begin with, and a horrible one to continue.
To make a law that all of the unisured MUST buy into the same failed system...means insurance rates go up more for all, much more. Yet what it's going to ultimately cover is still going to suck. It just means you'll pay more for coverage, but get worse coverage.
Eventually we're just going to have to SCRAP the 3rd party profits off of sick people scam...and just deal straight on 'individual' with 'doctor' and everything is AT COST - the ACTUAL costs of the medicine, the ACTUAL costs of visiting the doctor, WITHOUT all of this added on insurance coverage over-inflated third-party money-earning extra stuff happening.

When people actually start to care -- when senators and house members fear to give in to the lobbying efforts of insurance companies because they know they'll lose their seats if they do, regardless of how much the insurance companies pay them -- it will change. |

Probably. The American system is obviously pretty flawed. But what healthcare system isn't? Profit isn't the problem, it's the solution. Trying to be "compassionate" with regards to universal health care is a mistake. It always ends badly when individuals think they can micro manage a market from the top down. Which Obama is proposing to do in a number arenas. it will end badly, they will claim victory or blame it on free markets and walk away scott free. |

No, you're right. Insurance companies are parasites, same as banks. I've been doing a lot of reading lately, and I've come to realise just how crooked the system is. The gov't literally can't print it's own money, but has to borrow from banks (who create the money, unbacked, and lend it all at interest), which leads to an inevitable deficit (covered by taxes which could be spent on medicare). Then the average Joe has to pay insurance companies more than what it would cost the gov't to do the same, with our taxes, and we still get less...
In fact, the more I learn (most of which is rarely ever mentioned in mainstream media), the more pissed off I get... |
