Hi.

I'm moving to Granada in Andalucia next september.

I only have a tiny bit of basic Spanish. By this time next year I'd like to be a good beginner or even intermediate level.

I would like around two hours a week at the weekend or possibly one weekday evening and one weeked afternoon class.

I will be a very serious student, so am looking for a qualified teacher if possible.

If you are available or know someone who is, please pm me with your availability and hourly rates. Must be native Spanish (not South or Central American.)

Central Seoul or close to Ilsan would be best for me.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cool

Hi,

you may want to look for the thread entitled: El foro de Espanol. I'll bring it back to the front page. Here, you will find most of the people on Dave's that speak Spanish (or at least pretend to). Give me a second.

What does that mean? Are you looking for a native spaniard? Why narrow your prospects? It's like looking for a canadian english speaker over an american english speaker. Rolling Eyes

I agree. Those are quite the limitations put on an already nearly non-existant community. If you change your mind, feel free to PM me. (I'm near-native with pretty neutral Spanish and pretty good knowledge of variations around the world... definitely enough to bring you up to beginner/intermediate level and I'm in Ilsan).

Hey OP,

Becareful as there isn't an 'authentic' Spanish. Spain has 7 different variations of the language. Truthfully, it all depends on what you are looking to do. If you are going to be anywhere in North or South America, I suggest you learn North American Spanish. If you intend on traveling to Spain, then pick a dialect. The several forms are not mutually intelligible. Therefore, becareful in what you learn.

I have the feeling that you want to learn North America Spanish (minus the variations in lexical entries due to regions). If so, take your pick as there are a lot of different ways from which to learn the language.

I know a very amiable, middle-aged Peruvian teacher working in Seoul. He works at a very prestigious high-school here. I think he told me he's been teaching Spanish in Korea for 20 years.
