-So most of us have been to other countries, been to other places, slept with different people, spoken other languages, whatever. I'm curious, what are the craziest things you ever heard, maybe teaching or walking down the street. You know those phrases of misinfformation that make you die laughing, or just want to commit suicide. I'll start with two of my own from Russia
--A ex-russian navy guy told me in an English class that america sailors were 'afraid' of the russian submarine Kursk and torpedoed it. When I said this was a very original description of events he informed me it was an CIA cover-up. He announced in Russia, they have a free press and the govt. said the americans were behind it.
--The local immigration office said they couldn't register my visa because they "Didn't know how" and I should contact a travel agent. I explained that the travel agents were commiting a minor crime by illicitly registering me at non-existing addresses. The office of immigration said "Thats a good idea, maybe we should try it!?"
-So just example of when you go huh?! I don't want culture shock, or "I saw a dog eating two kids in india" unless you can make it funny.

A Chinese friend of mine moved to Canada when he was in elementary school. He told me back in Chinese school, they taught that the Wright brothers went on their first flight in China.

Once my Korean coworker held up a small object and asked, "Have you ever seen one of these before? Do you know what it is?"

In his hand was a peanut.
