| You mean voted Liberal Party governments to three majorities. The only people who voted for Chretien lived in Shawinigan. Don't blame all Canucks, especially considering the alternatives at the time. |

Not sure if its the best but it is one of them. The leader of the opposition at the time wanted Canada to support the invasion.

The valley where my family lives in B.C. isn't so big and the temperature now is 38 C.
And having spent my formative years on the West Coast I can say that Vancouver and the Island is a heck of a lot warmer in winter than Seoul.
True, much of the country gets an extra month or two of winter. But most of the time (over six months of the year), most of the places Canadians live... not chilly. |

And most of us have heard the material that invariably follows as well. Really hard to see how this could come as news to anyone.

This is true. But most Canadians will go apoplectic over it. They prefer the fiction they have created for themselves ("Canada fights in Afghanistan but has nothing at all to do with Iraq").
Nevertheless, in multiple ways, immensely helpful or not, Canada and Canadian forces enabled and/or supported U.S. military action in the present Iraqi War/Occupation since Mar. 2003.
NATO is voluntary. Canada ought to withdraw from that if it really wants to disavow American military action and/or demonstrate independence.
But it won't will it?  |
