Hi,
I'm planning to come back to Korea in September/October, having taught in Seoul for just over a year.
I'd like people's opinions on the cities that they live in, and would especially like to hear comparisons from those who've lived in more than one.
The places I'd particularly like to hear about are Seoul (compared to elsewhere - I've only lived in Seoul), Busan, Daejon, Daegu and their respective suburbs - I'd like to live in, or close to, a decent sized city.
I'd like to know about weather/climate/pollution, shopping, things-to-do (hiking, climbing, diving, bowling, etc), night-life, ex-pat community, transport.
Please spare a few minutes to highlight the pros and cons of where you live.
Thanks in advance.

Hey maddog, you sold your computer to me. I know the last time you were in Seoul you got a bad deal on your work situation. The same could happen you anywhere, so you've also got to spend some time researching your place of employment as well as the city you'd like to live in.
Having met you briefly, I'd say you'd like Seoul (with better work conditions) or Busan. Busan is generally better weather wise but the night life can be mix and match (at least when you go to Itaewon you're guaranteed some life). As far as night life is concerned, Seoul and Busan seem to be your better options. Think about your working conditions... |
