This is for the people out there who have done a lot of living/travelling in Asia. Who do you consider to be the friendliest out of the three? Koreans, Chinese, or Japanese? (If you want to choose "Thai" or something, be my guest.)

Thanks!

Ah come on...this is just a silly question. People have good and bad experiences everywhere.

you run into wild generalizations talking about this kind of stuff but we're all a bit ignorant so what the hey. despite a lof of anger and emotions with the Koreans, I would go with the Koreans as being the friendliest of the 3. both chinese and japanese appear more polite than koreans, but chinese and japanese generally do NOT 1) pay for their friends' meals etc, 2) care that much about you. 3) become "friends" as easily as Koreans. plus for every angry korean you'll find a korean who will go out of their way to help you, carrying your bags for you, doing all kinds of things. japanese people go "sumimasen" and keep on walking and chinese people tend to just walk on by. well, these are all generalizations of course, it's what i've generally experienced

My little bit of gross generalisation.

Well, if by friendly you mean strangers chatting up to me, inviting me for drinks, or having a warm attitude towards me in general, i'd go for the chinese. Koreans take a bit more time to get used to you, but can become closer friends once they do.

On the whole, I'm probably more at ease with japanese friends, but that's just because I speak the linguo, and their customs fit my personality better.
