I have a friend here from New York City. Not sure if he's up for meeting new people though, I think he's leaving soon.

I'm not from New York either, but I lived in Manhattan for 2 1/2 years (1998-2000).

6 months in Washington Heights - 171st Street & Fort Washington.
3 months in Brooklyn - Williamsburg
18 months in TriBeCa - Church & Chambers Streets

Born in the BX, only lived more than an hour away (and that was Albany)for two years total before I came here. BX age 0-6, Yonkers 6-13, Princeton area of Jersey 13-29 (often commuting to and hanging in Manhattan), Albany 29-31, Brooklyn 31-32.
That New York enough for you? Whatchuneed?
