Whats the country(s) you've most enjoyed visiting?
For me I have to say South Africa has it all. A real happening vibe: stunning scenery: vibrant, genuine and interesting people. Stimulating situations. Paradoxes of wealth and poverty: you get to sense the immediate urgency of life as well as enjoy sophisticated cities and resorts.
High crime rate and a sense of danger actually adds to the vibe.
the beaches are great. The climate is great. The wildness and the wildlife is great. Love it!
second favourite is probably Italy. It has that charm, atmosphere. History and intricate interest is woven into every town and village. it has great taste- the cuisine, the dress sense, the style and beauty is held up and respected everywhere. The people- energetic, passionate and if you are their guest, they really look after you.
Third place has to be the Netherlands. Love the people- probably because I can't figure out how they're so tolerant and sophisticated. Amsterdam is seedy, but actually has great atmosphere. The sense of style is there once again- the architecture, the museums and paintings. Even the rural areas have a certain charm in those pretty fields and trees...and theres always a cool bar to hang out just round the corner. |

| Argentina. It has it all. Buenos Aires is like a latin version of Paris. Up North you can see jungle, waterfalls, etc. NW is desert. West are the Andes complete with glaciers. Ushaia (bad spelling i know) is the southern most city in the world. Peninsula Valdes has Wright whales, killer whales, sea lions, elephant seals, penguins, and more. And of course there is wine country around Mendoza. Its reallly a fantastic place. I would highly recommend a month down there to anyone, although you could spend six traveling around. The food is good. The people are really friendly. And the mix of the European and South American feel/lifestyle is great. |

Tough choice...
My favorite was probably Brazil because of the weather and the passion of the place. Not to mention the women!
Honorable mentions go to:
*Greece (family reasons)
*Italy for the history, food and culture
*UK for the vibe
*Japan because was just really neat
*HK, which was the most beautiful city I ever visited (HK will never be China to me) |

I haven't really had a burning desire to go to Latin America but Argentina is one country I would be interested in visiting.
As far as my favorite country goes, I really can't say. Such a wide spectrum. I loved Bangladesh for the interaction I had with people. I loved Japan for all the cool things I saw. I loved India for all the crazy things you can see there. I love Singapore because it is a first world city but with cheap food and transportation.
That being said, I'd say Korea tops them all.
Just kidding. |

HK was really cool. I liked UK. And Canada is my home, so they're all good.
Japan was cool, but I wouldn't want to go there again. Maybe to some super remote or unique area. Korea is Korea. Nuff Said. USA...I can barely remember it. France...Paris sucks. I haven't seen the rest. |

| Laos! Cheap, cool people, interesting sites. Unfourtantly it's about a year or so away from being the next 'it country' in South East Asia. |

Hey, clg - good to see you hanging around.
Turkey, of course, but living there as long as I did (7 years) gives you a different perspective than just visiting.
Eritrea was very cool as a place to visit - great weather and architecture in Asmara, interesting history, incredibly nice people. |

Difficult to choose a favourite because each country has its own charm. Personally I love France and dont get to spend enough time there. It is not perfect but I always enjoy France, especially rural areas. Good scenery and wildlife, nice people (if you speak French ) and all round happy atmosphere.
I also loved Hong Kong, vibrant place and mixture of Western comfort and eastern exoticism.
Since living away I have a fonder relationship with my own country, Britain. I recently went back for two months and it was honestly the best two months of my life. It is expensive and the weather this summer is awful but it is home. Green, compact, great beach (in my town), nice people in general and plenty of choice, international vibe. |

| Cuba. Great beaches, warm friendly people and an interesting and unique culture. A unique place that will chane in the near future. I also really liked Vietnam, such a variety of landscapes, great food and a society that seemed to be in constant movement. |

I'll take any island in the Caribbean. I saw a lot of them but there are so many more on my list.
Where else can you find Europeans, Africans, Indians, East Indians, Asians, Muslims, Bahais, Christians, Jews, Arabs, Hindus living under the sun?
And the food....French, Spanish and Indian. Come on man. |
