Is this sarcasm??
Mine are nice enough to my face and everyone else, and then do a lot of backstabbing to each other, and so I assume to me too. There are a few I trust on a superficial level, for example we set up strategies to deal with problem students, etc. but thats about it. They are supposed to set up all their classes for me (bosses choice, not mine) and they almost never do, so that I'm struggling and asking students what the lesson is half the time...but I gues this could be an overall institutional problem. They are all women and also cute too (except for the zit faced one who dresses like a Harlem club prostitute) ... but who cares as I'll never date a woman I work with unless I want to punish myself or unless there's some overwhelming chemistry... |

Got one who who was always bugging me by trying to talk to me about the students we have in common or informing me on stuff going on with management. Found myself thinking, "Jesus, why don't you just leave me alone?" Took me a while to realize it was exactly what I had lways complained to friends about Korean co-teachers NOT doing ... yeah, sometimes I can be real dumb.
About 3 times a month, I'd walk up to her and ask her to solve a problem, and she'd put down what she was doing until my problem was solved. Often it was something literally as lame as "C., what am I supposed to be doing right now?"
One time, exactly once, she asked me a favor, to write two paragraphs a friend of hers needed for a job application. I told her I didn't have time. Then I went out of the building to have a cigarette. Halfway through the smoke, it occurred to me : "Christ what an ass I am." Composed the paragraphs in my mind while finishing the smoke break, jotted them down in the space of 3 minutes. She later said it was perfect.
Sometime after that, she became officially designated and recognized as Little Sister and Friend of The Family, and she even introduced us to her miguk namja chingu, obviously hoping someone whould approve of him, since her parents did not, for the usual reasons. I told her : "He's a good guy. Keep him."
The wife likes her fine, too, though it took some convincing as the spouse, she is a jealous lady, and like many Koreans is skeptical about whether men and women can really be friends ... but it is sort of nice to have a Little Sister, and worth the brief bit of drama in the household over it. |

| Not sarcasm. I have one coteacher who really helps me out a ton. She's is really really nice. She's done everything from bringing me food to lending me money to wanting to go to China with me on vacation. She's been great. |

| That's all well and good, Jackooboy, but how are they as teachers and co-teachers? I'm totally friends with all mine, but teaching standards in Korea are absolutely dire. |

My co-teacher is awesome. As a person and as a teacher. As a person, he's honest, informative, interesting, and funny. As a teacher, he's even handed, imaginative, informative, open to criticism and correction, and always seeking new ideas.
The man's awesome. Plain and simple... |

Pretty lucky but this year got a real C-word. I make very detailed lesson plans and am lucky if she bothers to take a look. The rest of the co-teachers rock. We work well together. My class is very equal participation by both of us.
The witch from hell .....whaddya gonna do? I just do my stuff and thank God I only have 3 classes with the wench.
(I teach Middle School)

Outside class all mine are great. Inside some are helpful, some aren't so helpful, one's worse than useless (a temp who'll be gone next term), and the ones I appreciate the most when I'm teaching are the high school English teachers who never come to my class.
All in all the senior English teachers at my school have been a world of help in so many respects and I can only hope that I can reciprocate the feeling. |

| My co-teacher gives me head before class. By the end of the day I'm pretty dead. But love my job. |
