I know it has been asked before BUT it never seems to get answered...Has anyone used a shipping country from the UK? If so which one and how were they? Also when you sent your documents to Korea for your visa did you use normal post or which company? |

I suggest you look around New Malden, UK (the Korean city of the UK), and speak to some Koreans, they will help you. I used a shipping service (being married to a Korean) to transport my goods from the UK to Korea and it cost $1200 to ship all my goods in my flat (2 adults and 1 kid) so pretty good.

Speak to some of the travel agents in New Malden and ask if they know of any good affordable shipping companies. Good luck. |

When I moved here 7 years ago, I called several agents in New Malden and they all quoted me over 1000 pounds to ship my meagre belongings.
I then phoned around other agents near where I live in East Midlands and found one called JOhnson (or something like that) and they gave me the cheapest quote. I was able to send 2 huge boxes of books, several boxes of clothes, one huge gigantic box of teddy bears and stuff and another couple of boxes of household stuff for around 350 quid! They came out to look at what I got to ship and gave me a quote on the spot. They were really fast, too! I sent my stuff in July and they arrived at the beginning of September (things were literally shipped, over seas). |

I just used royal mail airmail for my documents it took about 1 week to arrive.
I just asked my girlfriend, she shipped a massive box of stuff to korea from bournemouth before she came back here it cost her about 20 squid with insurance in england, but then when she went to pick it up in korea they asked for another 100 quid before she could get her stuff and it took 2 months to arrive.
She said she has spoken to other people and apparently just taking it to the post office is the best way, because it is much quicker and only slightly more expensive. |

Hi - I used a company called Lexington Freight Forwarding to send a suitcase full of books and stuff from UK to Korea - It cost me just over 100 for a 25kilo case, including all the taxes etc. - Highly recommended!
www.lexingtonfreight.com
Edit - BTW, dont waste 40-50 on FedEx for documents - Send it Airmail with Royal Mail, use the international mail tracking thingy they offer and it'll cost you under a fiver, and will arrive about 1week-10 days from the day you send it - FedEx, DHL etc quoted me 54+ to deliver it in 6 days - dont get ripped off! |

I've just sent 7 packages of books (each package weighed about 2 1/2 KG. You get a cheaper rate if each package is less than 5KG) which weighed in at around 21KG to SK using Royal Mail surfacemail.
Cost about 100, which seems comparable to other couriers, but it's going to take between 4/6-weeks to get there. |
