I'll be in Suwon in less than 2 weeks! Who else is there or will soon be there? It would be nice to meet some people before I show up. Howdy all you Suwon folks.

Lots of ppl I know hang out on a weekend in Youngtong, and there are some cool cats there!! Have a good safe trip over here.

I live in Suwon. Youngtong area of Suwon. There are a few "foriegner" bars out this way (Now! Bar and Wa Bar come to mind).
You'll see alot of us wandering the Youngtong area, especially on the weekends.

ok I would love to know where these foreigner areas are here. I've been here 6 months and have really only seen other foreigners walking down the street or at the train/subway system then it becomes the nod and smile while we keep going about our business. I must be in the non-foreigner area. I know that I'm the only foreigner in my building.

Any directions?

I am living in Suwon, not far from the Sports complex. I live close to the Gyeonggi education office.

If you live near Suwon station, just grab a taxi and tell the drive to go to Youngtong Homeplus (about a 5,000W taxi ride). When you get to Homeplus, walk around the side of the building (across the street will be a Pizza Hut, a Dunkin Donuts and other buisnesses). Walk down that street until you come to the SECOND traffic light and turn left to walk down that street.
Keep walking down that street until you come to an open courtyard with businesses on either side of the yard (there is a Baskin Robins in this court yard).
In the second set of businesses, is the Now! Bar. It's on the second floor. Friday and Saturday nights, there are usually a few foriegners kicking around. If not, then next door is Wa bar, and a few can usually be found in there.
Sorry if the directions are muddled or confusing.

It is around a 2500 won taxi ride from our apartment to Homeplus. Does anyone know the local bus routes of the Suwon buses ?

On the topic of Suwon, we also have an expat soccer team - Inter Suwon, that is sponsored by the NOW bar. We play at Gyeonggi Suwon International School in Yong Tong and play in the Seoul Sunday Football League. Most of the guys can be found at the NOW bar some time during the week.

We're always on the lookout for players and supporters. Our season starts very soon. If anyone is interested, please email me at [email protected] . We are especially on the hunt for a goalkeeper at the moment.

Hello Newbie...I too represent Suwon. Like everyone else has been saying...Youngtong is the place to hang out with foreigners...Hit me up if you wanna hang...I always enjoy meeting new people.
