-So I'm using netkorea and sent off all my stuff in the beginning of June. I just sent them the last document(police check) and am now wondering how long will I have to wait until I get my actual E-2 visa and stuff like that. I don't even have a date to go to Korea, although I said I wanted a september start.
-Should I be worried, or am I just over excited? How long does this take? |

Did you send them your documents before they found you a job/before you signed a contract? That's not good...
I hope you only sent them a certified copy of your diploma and not the original. |

-Yeah, I said I'll do anywhere in Korea except Seoul or Busan and submitted my resume. I'm experienced and have worked in Russia, so I figured I've got nothing to lose. They said great, and offered me a job with the Gangwon office of Education(public schools) I read over the contract, which seemed identical to the EPIK ones I've seen posted around. I sent off three signed contracts and all the documents. I've got multiple original diplomas and transcripts as I live in my univeristy, but I'm just wondering what is going on? Its not like I'm there, so what can they can stand to gain by not telling me whats going on? I'm working with one Sunny Oh.
-Is it possible I'm just over-reacting, I've seen other people on this forum use netkorea, and assumed it was safe. |

Ah, Ms. Oh..I've dealt with her once...she also promised to contact me when she found a job for me..but alas she did not. No hard feelings though.
Q: When did you send the copies of the contract in?
Q: have you emailed Ms. Oh in regards to the status of your application?
The recruiter submits your documents to the school or whoever's in charge at EPIK. Then your documents get submitted to immigration. 7-10 business days you get a visa number. You take this number to the Korean consulate that serves your district to get your visa. After that I don't know I'm still waiting for my visa number but my recruiter replies very quickly when I ask her about something. |

Those Gangwon positions through NetKorea are EPIC positions. I was ready to go until I saw the contract. I wrote back to Sunny and said I was not interested in anything where I could not:
1. pick my actual school;
2. there was no guarantee of even being assigned to my city/gun of choice;
3. they could even assign me to another province. |
