I recently bought an Xbox after setting up a home internet connection with Naver, hoping to play xbox Live. However, it has failed to connect stating that i need a stable IP address to play online. Indeed, when checking my IP i found that it changes constantly. It could be a router problem, or just company policy im not sure.

Has anyone come across this problem before, i'd imagine it is very common in Korea. The company are willing to help but i need to tell them exactly what has to be done. Has anyone got any suggestions, i would be very grateful. Thank you.

Easy enough

Find the IP address of your router

Double click on the connection icon (the two computers) and then on the right tab

One IP is your computers, the one that says gateway is your router

In Xbox network settings you need to set your IP manually.

This is going to be the first three sets of numbers of your gateway IP plus the final number is of your choice.

E.g Gateway = 192.168.111.1 IP for Xbox could be 192.168.111.10

Next set your subnet. 255.255.255.0

Then your gateway whatever the address of your router is.

In my example 192.168.111.1

Then set your DNS

use your routers IP as your DNS again in my example 192.168.111.1

Then tell your xbox to connect to live and all should be good.

You may need to go into your router and manually open a port for the xbox.

if you have to do this look up your router in www.portforwarding.com
