Does anyone know if we are in fact staying at the Yousung hotel for orientation or just meeting there?

I checked out their website and the place is pretty nice. I'm hoping to be able to take advantage of the gym and swimming pool!

I apologize for not being able to address your question. But, I was curious if you knew how many EPIK instructors were hired this year. When I worked for EPIK from '96-'98, they had a hard time getting the numbers they wanted. This was primarily due to the bad rep. the program had developed and then the 'IMF' crisis devaluating the won. Now, I've heard that the visa process is much more difficult. Anyway, please let me know what the numbers turn out to be. Thanks.

i'm curious to know that too. i know each year either new spots opened up quickly or some spots were just unfilled.

sorry OP, i don't know the answer to your question, but when i had an EPIK-like orientation we all stayed in the hotel. however we had room mates.

Wow! I have to say I'm very surprised by that number. Is that the total for the year or just for one hiring phase? I thought they would have trouble getting more than a hundred. Could it be that there are some Nova evacuees in the group? Anyway, thanks for letting us know.

Group showers weren't a problem .. no toilet paper was.. oh and two washing machines and one drying rack for 70 guys was a real good idea.

EPIK is having an orientation? News to me.

I signed and epik contract with the school I was subcontracted through last semester. I'm now the full time native teacher for the school. All I'm supposed to do is move this weekend and start teaching Monday morning. Is the orientation for the FOTP teacher's or those that are new to the program? If it's the latter I wonder why I wasn't told about it. Ah well no worries.

I will be starting as an EPIK teacher but will miss the orientation. Anyone who attended the orientation care to fill me in on what I missed?
