I have discovered that Korea doesn't have doctors who specialize in a particular area of medicine, like podiatry. I have an ingrown toenail, and while I could use a podiatrist, I'm looking for an English-speaking doctor who has experience treating this condition and could help me in Suwon or the Seoul area. Anyone you could refer me to? Thanks.

From my exp., the doctor's I,ve seen speak enough English to help. I would recommend you take the subway to Sanbon station. Take the pedestrain bridge from there to where all the stores are. At the first street turn right and follow that to the main street. The hospital is on the right. Go to the second floor and take a number. Tell the lady your foot hurts. She should guide you to the right office. Once you meet the doctor, you can explain the problem in more detail.

I had an ingrown toenail that was cut out by a doctor who spoke next to no English. Sure, he knew the technical terms in English, but nothing else. His nurses knew nothing. I just had the place pointed out to me, went in, showed them my toe, and they took care of it. They told me to come back to get the bandage changed and there were no problems.

This was when I didn't have insurance, and it was only 90,000 or so. I imagine with insurance it's probably almost nothing.

I can do it. I have a medical certificate, a pair of pliers and a paper cutter.

I had a nail cut out by the local clinic. Doctor didn't speak much English but did an excellent job. With my medical card I just had to pay a very small fee.
