I'm going to Indonesia in September for 2 weeks or so (I have some flexibility here), but still am wondering which places are not-to-be-missed. I'm definitely heading to Bali, but would you classify Java and its cities and towns as "must-sees"? I've read Lonely Planet to get the scoop, but I still can't decide. By the way, I'm interested in both nature (beaches, volcanos, etc.) as well as culture (temples, museums, etc.) Taking my preferences and time schedule into consideration, where should I go in Indonesia? Thanks. |

Yogjakarta (Bobodur, etc.), Malang (volcano), Solo (more culture), etc. |

I just watched an episode of No Limits with Anthony Bordaine and he says, hands down, the best roast pig in the world is Balinese roast pig. |

And you won't get roast pig anywhere else in Indonesia. It's predominantly Moslem. Also, don't forget to use your RIGHT hand, when greeting in Java. The left hand is considered unclean / evil. |
