Hello all,
My contract will culminate at the end of September, however, I wish to stay 1~3 months longer. Does anyone know:
1) If it can be done.
2) If it can be done, How?
3) What is the easiest/simplest way to get it done?
Any information would be most appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Cheers. |

Sometimes it can be done. It depends on why you want the extension (up to 90 days).
If you are staying at your job longer, it is a simple working visa extension. You need some paperwork from your school, copy of the contract, passport , ARC and 30k won. Takes about 20 minutes to process.
If you want it for tourism purposes you can get up to 30 days for free by going to your local immigration office with your passport, ARC and exit ticket.
If you want longer than 30 days for tourism purposes you will, assuming you are NOT American, simply have to make a trip to Japan (or another convenient country) and back. You will get a 90 day tourist stamp on your entry into Korea from your trip.
If you are American you will have to go to Japan (or another convenient country) and apply for a 90 day C3 tourist visa. Otherwise you will only get 30 days on your visa waiver stamp.

Sweeeet. Again, big-ups for the information ttompatz. However, you mentioned if I am planning to stay at my job longer, it is a simple visa extension. If I don't want to do a full year, do you know how many more months I'd be able to work? What's the limit? Is it up to my hagwon?
Look forward to hearing from you. |

| Unless your job sponsors you to stay longer, 30days is the maximum extension. |

| You can extend your work visa for as long as your new contract with your school states. 1 month, 6 months, 47 days, it doesn't matter. |
