Does anyone know of a trendy reasonably cheap clothing shopping area in Seoul. Im heading up in a few weeks and wouldnt mind a few suggestions. I have been to Naemdaemun and Dongdaemun markets. Clothes were ok, but a lot the same. Also where is a good place to go shoe shopping, not for the high heeled slip ons all the girls wear here, but for some good walking sneakers. |

2 places:
Ewha Women's University area. Go to Ewha station on line 2 (for some reason, in Korean it's written and pronounced "Eedae" instead of Ewha). Come out of Exit 7 (I think). There'll be one of those cheap Korean shoe stores right on the corner when you come out the exit. Head down the road to the right of that shoe store. Keep going straight or turn down the small side streets anywhere and you will discover a very large shopping area. Very trendy, range of prices. Great stuff.
Another similar place is Myung Dong (spelling?) I can't remember what line it's on, but I think the station is Myung Dong Station. Get a subway map. Go out the exit that takes you to the Catholic Cathedral. Walk straight, turn right at the corner. It's a very large shopping area, you can't miss it. Sorry I can't give you better directions for this one, it's been a while. |
