Does anyone know of any way to get travel cover for one year before leaving for Korea?

I want cover for the flight to Korea and then for any smaller trips I make during my initial 12 months there, but have been told that no policies will cover me...

...did anyone else find this, and is there a way of getting insurance that bypasses this little quandary??
