|
|
Does anyone have experience with traveling overland to Korea?
And then also with getting their employer to reimburse them for doing so?
My wife and I are currently in India, in Nepal by September, and then in October will be booking a tour through Tibet, before sprinting across China by train (most likely). Then ferry or plane to Korea, with Busan as our city of choice...
It seems that October jobs are not yet available, as the recruiters we have contacted have informed us, but we are going to have to put a down payment on our Tibet tour soon, and don't want to screw ourselves over by doing so.
Hopefully someone else has done this, and can offer some advice!
And if you have a hot Busan job lead for a couple, do let us know!
Thanks so much
Peace

I'm assuming the OP knows you have to take a ferry for the last leg.
I recommend the ferry from Dalian, China.
If you like people in their 50's and 60's getting drunk and cooking Korean food on camp stoves then do the ferry out of Qingdao. |

| You'll have some unique travel problems going from Nepal to Lhasa and then taking off the other way. Read about. Permits are awkward to come by i heard. |

In 2004, I went to Tibet via Kathmandu. I was told that onward travel to mainland China was impossible, because of my point of entry.
I read online somewhere a few months ago that this rule is still in effect: you WILL NOT be allowed into mainland China if you have entered Tibet via Nepal.
Hope that helps. |

| I was looking into this, as far as I can tell you can go from Katmandu to Lhasa, and then from Lhasa, take the train to Beijing China without too much trouble. You may have to go with a group from Katmandu to Lhasa, but taking the train from Lhasa to Beijing is much easier and cheaper then the other way for some reason. I am still reseaching it so any additional advise or knowledge is welcome. |
