I just found this page about a rail station that serves the Cheongju airport:

Has anyone used this? Does anyone know if this is the same line Suwon Station is on? I've never actually seen a detailed Korail map; the one on their website is very basic. This could be a very convenient alternative to Incheon, even more so because of the bargain fares out of Cheongju.
Also, has anyone ever gone to the Cheongju airport from Cheonan Station? The site says there are buses but it doesn't list their numbers, nor show what time they depart and arrive.
This is one of the airports Air Asia X intends to serve, and on the odd chance I'm in Korea then, I'll try it out. In the meantime, the Shanghai fares seem cheaper out of Cheongju than Incheon. That alone is also at least worth a try, if I can get there more quickly than to ICN. |
