Hi,
How much did you guys have to pay to get a sealed copy of your university transcripts? My university is asking for 50 (nearly $100). This seems ridiculous to me.
cheers |

I paid 10 pounds for the first one and 2 pound for any extras, think a replacement certificate was about 30 pounds, that was at Durham uni |

mine were free! and they arrived the day after I asked for them. 50 seems well high to me. After all you've just spent 3000 on tuition. I'd try and contest that if I were you.
Good luck |

Mine's $10 CAD per copy ($17 rush order - 15 min. wait) plus mail/courier charges if one wants them sent anywhere ... and I thought that was expensive.
50 British pounds per copy is beyond reason.
What university? |

Thanks for the responses.
Sounds like i am being done over. It's Sheffield Hallam University.
They've also asked me to send a cheque with my account number, expiry date and issue number. Sounds a bit dodgy to me. why ask for a cheque AND my card details? |

Transcripts to be mailed regular post from my university are $6.00 (US) each. Rush orders are $15.00 each.
I had to call the Registrar's office to get information about replacing a diploma as they do not provide that information on their website. The replacement diploma cost $27.50 if mailed to an address within the US. The Registrar's office also requires proof of damage or official statement of loss (such as a police report indicating theft) prior to issuing a replacement diploma.
I suppose some universities in the UK may charge 50 Pounds for a rush order for a replacement diploma to be mailed overseas, although that's still a tad steep. That price for transcripts alone is outrageous.
I checked your university's website to get the costs for transcripts. There is a 35 Pound (nonrefundable) administrative fee for duplicate certificate of degree. For transcripts, there is a lovely statement advising you to contact "the relevant Faculty reception" and further advising you "that there may be a charge." |
