I have three computers at my house, they can all connect to the internet via wireless (ADSL). Is it possible to share files (from one computer to another eg send/copy files from my desktop to laptop) via this wireless connection? I have googled but the few guides i have found are not shall we say simple. If somebody could could provide a step by step guide or point me towards a SIMPLE guide it would be most appreciated.
To complicate matters one of the laptops is a mac.
It is a real pain having to transfer files via usb drives.

The instructions for sharing files should be the same whether they
are connected by a wireless network or a wired network.
I will tell you that the running a cable will be much faster. Most wireless
routers also have ports for using ethernet cable.
For your question. Basically on the PC's you create shared folders. Doing this is a little different for each version of windows. This may be where you are having the problem. Make sure the instructions you find on the internet
match your version of windows.
The protocol for sharing with Windows is called SMB. You might find information related to that term also. |

Yes, and you can share your printer on any computer on the network. Also, you can listen to music from any computer on the network.
How do I know? I'm doing all that. but soon I'll be getting one of these. |
