Hello,

I have been living in Korea for almost 3 weeks. The whole time I have been working for Direct English Pagoda. So far everything is fine, I just have a question. I asked when I will get health ins today and they told me I already have it. They said I would get the card within a month and that I can use my alien registration card for any services I need now.

I have to go to a pharmacy for bc within the month, and I just want to make sure it will all work out. (Is anyone here using nuvaring?)

Is this really how it is supposed to work?

Assuming they've applied for it yes, you can use your alien card for health coverage until you get the little booklet.

As for BC, I'm not sure you can even get Nuvaring here. Most people seem to use Mercilon, a monophasic pill, which isn't covered by insurance. It's over the counter here and dirt cheap (5-7,000W/month). I doubt any birth control is covered by insurance but I could be wrong.
