So I got a great price on a used drinking water cooler/heater from somebody on here, but I'm having a hell of a time getting water for it.

How often do these guys deliver that stuff? Just once a week?

I was given the local number of a guy who delivers 새물/Crystal brand water to others in the area, and he is a total douchebag. Called him on Thursday, and he said he'd come out on Friday. By 4pm he hadn't come, so my gf called him to verify the address. Yeah, yeah... he's got the address and said he be out within an hour. Evening passes, and the guy never shows, so she calls him the next day to find out what happened. He argues that he dropped it off, and it wasn't his fault. Says "the foreigner got it from me."

Turns out the nutjob delivered water to another foreigner who works for my school -- only that other foreinger lives a freakin' subway stop away from me! I happened to call her, wondering if this is what happened, and she said, "Yeah, we've been calling that water guy for the last week to get our water, and he finally brought us one tonight... grrr..."

So my girlfriend is now almost as pissed as I am (it's Saturday) because she fought with the water guy, who refused to admit that he made any mistake, and suggested we try another water company. She says, "This is why they deliver water. They're too stupid for any other job."

Today, we left my information for deilvery from puriss water , and we'll see if THEY can get me water any faster.

How long does it take you to get it after you order? A day? A week?

My water company comes around twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. I have to let them know that I need more water, they won't just automatically come and check. I can call them Monday morning though, and still get water. Never had a problem.

We get Pulmuone water. Our guy is good and I've heard other people say that pulmuone is one of the better companies. He comes every saturday morning and delivers. If we aren't here, then he'll leave us a bottle and we pay next time. We use one bottle a week, so we have standing arrangement that hecomes every saturday. It's 5000 a bottle.

Well, I got a bottle from a friend who runs an establishment near here. Paid her for it, and just have to bring the bottle back. We'll see how long it takes to get the water from Puriss.

Before our Kongrish got good enuff, we used the agent that got us the appt, her office was between the appt and the subway, so I'd drop in for 10 sec, ask for water, leave money on her desk. Every now and again I'd drop in chocs or apples etc as a small 'cheers for the service"

Because Korea is so mountainous, I've seen a lot of mountain springs (outfitted with a continuously flowing spigot by the powers that be) where people are filling up their cooler jugs for free, and taking drinks from it with dixie cups and sports bottles. This method requires you to live by a spring (or have a car for decent transport) and be comfortable drinking fresh groundwater. There were two of these springs in my old neighborhood near Doksan station. I drink from them every time I revisit my old haunts---- tastes great, hasn't gotten me sick yet, but I can see how one might have qualms about the source.
