I just hope I don't get to be like my parents when I become a parent myself.

Are they down on you for going to Korea? Mine were too until I told them I could save money up to buy a car back home since having a decent car is absolutely necessary in making life happen in the USA. It was not a huge surprise or anything too new in my case as I had worked abroad for 3 years before.

Tell them you're saving money and doing something you really want to do and that you won't be here for too long.

I could never call my parents stupid on a public forum. I love them soooo much and they've done so much for me. We can all be annoying sometimes, but my goodness, these people gave you life for goodness sakes!

This is correct. Been here 10+ years. Parents sometimes do and say the stupidest things and it's really bloody annoying.

Sometimes even a superhero needs a secret lair well stocked with aged single malt scotch.

Be thankful that you have parents. Mine died 3 months ago.
