Hi,
I have 4 weeks left of my current IT contract, and although I can hang around indefinitely afterwards I am keen to get my Korean adventure started asap after it finishes (a week at most would be perfect).
Given the factor of how long a visa takes can I start applying for "asap" jobs, will the visa process and sorting out the contract 4 weeks anyway or if I really go ahead with the job search now will the school be wanting me to start quicker that 4 weeks away?
Any ideas would be great. I've been looking through lots of jobs, contract advice, living in Korea tips and everything. |

Assuming that you're using a recruiter as I did, and that you're taking the PS route, the turn around time from once your documents have been ok'ed by the education board is about a month.
Once the documents have been returned to you with your application process form etc, your visa should be issued in about a week, quicker if you do it in person.
For other types of teaching posts (Hagwons etc) the time window is probably different. |
