Check out the International feast of Rock! mmmm, rock soup, barbequed rock, delicious. It's the "International" rock festival, yet it's classified as Korean wave.
I thought it was now "Korea Sparkiling", guess the embassy dudes are still behind.
Then we have to East Sea Propoganda. Koreans call the sea on the other side, the West Sea (so hea) , since The Korean Peninsula is the center of the universe, yet on the official Embassy map it's the Yellow Sea. Looks like deference to China, and up yours Japan. The usual story!

It's real name is Laincourt Rocks. I told this to a Jap and Tawainese I was drinking with and they burst out laughing that its English name is rocks and not island. The Jap really, really thought that Koreans' fuss over Dokdo was hilarious, and they couldn't believe that every day Dokdo makes the weather forcast even though no one watching the weather forcast will be going to Dokdo.
I was re-writing a dialogue with my students on the blackboard and the students decided that the characters in the dialogue would be going to Dokdo. I told them 'in English Dokdo is Laincourt Rocks' and wrote that on the board instead. |

| Leaders of Korea and Japan should fight on the next UFC fight card. I think it's UFC 74 "Respect." The winner gets Dokdo and there's no more fucking and moaning. |

| Neither side will give in for the next hundred years. Maybe this can be settled in a court of law in a country both countries agree on. Don't know if this could happen though. It would make for an extremely interesting legal case. |

not only do we have the falklands/malvinas in the argentinian weather forecast- but antarctica too. i always love how both chile and argentina claim a big slice of it on all of their maps. |

there are many countries that have territorial disputes. I don't know why you folks think korea is in the wrong here. When the japanese colonized korea one of the first territories they claimed was dokto. It was also the japanese who brought this issue up again recently when one of their cities claimed it.
Canada also has laid claim to a small island called Hans Island
