It occurs to me, countless numbers of Koreans try to look more western or at least partly emulate western looks by dyeing their hair colour, having eye surgery and a various assortment of bodily changes resulting in a shape more common among the west..
I'm curious about the reverse. Has anyone ever tried to look more asian/Korean by changing their appearance (or just simple fashion stuff)? Have you dyed your hair black?
Do you think it's socially accepted to do that? No one cares usually, that Koreans change their hair colour or get their eyes done. But, I'm thinking the mindset is that - if a westerner does that to emulate Asian looks, wouldn't that be considered weird? Why? Why is it different? |

I have dyed my hair black but I don't think I did it to look more Asian. I like Asian style (sans the pink shirts) because I have a similar build to Asians (scrawny) and American styles tend to favor people taller or fatter than me.
I guess I wouldn't mind if I was born an Asian but I'm not going to run out and get double eyelid surgery, I don't think there is anything strange about it. |
