Hi,

I need to get my visa extended for about 4 days between the expiration on Aug 30th (contract ends on Aug 31st) and when my new contract with my new public school starts on Sept 3rd.

I live in Gyeonggi and so I'm going down to Hwaseo (or whatever it's called).

What documents do I need to get the extension. My middle school is pretty disorganized and they don't know and can't seem to find it.

Replies ASAP would be great since I want to go tomorrow.

Thanks.

When are you making your visa run?

If you have your ticket out, simply show it (along with your ARC and passport) and they will extend you until the date on the ticket.

If you don't have your ticket out and are changing employers you will NOT be able to get an extension. You will have to leave and return.

Thanks, I'll try to be more clear.

I'm staying in the same city at a different public school in the same public school system.

The visa can apparently be extended/transfered, or so I've been told. This means no visa run is required, since the city is the employer, rather than a hagwon, and the employer technically remains the same.

My contract ends on August 31st. My new contract starts on Sept 3rd, and I will be signing it on Friday. My visa, however, runs out on Aug 30th.

So the idea is that I get a 4 or 5 day extension and then the new visa will be in effect.

Any further insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
