Yeah I'm stoked to watch this too. It will be interesting to see how Liddell responds after being knocked out by Jackson. I expect him to beat Jardine, can't really see Liddell losing to him.

Edit. I think the Shogun v Griffin fight will be the most intriguing fight. I wonder if the difference in rules between Pride and UFC will limit the effectiveness of Shogun, i.e. kicks and stomps to the head on the ground.

liddel losing would really be a let down... it would take some of the excitement away from him fighting rampage, silva, or shogun.
as far as the different rules go, the chute fighters are sick no matter what the rules. damn doesn't it make you miss pride though? i hate that redneck cage... but i love the fact they signed some of the best fighters in the world and we'll be able to see them fight... just wish it was in the ring, and always in japan.

It's still on - the "Super Action" channel - as of 1:20pm.

- Just saw Forrest Griffin score a big upset by pretty much dominating and subduing "Shogun" Rua in a bloody bout.

The main event is just about to begin...

They'll probably rerun the whole show tonight (or you can see it - with English commentators - on the MMA channel with TVU player downloaded...)

Well, the match is over - I think Jardine deserved to win the close decision - he scored more and was more aggressive ...

Damn, Griffin pretty much dominated Shogun. Shogun looked like he maybe overlooked this fight and didn't have his cardio up, he looked winded as hell. Great victory for Griffin though.

I thought Liddell won the first two rounds and got screwed out of the decision. However, I think MMA has passed him by, he needs to hang it up.

Strongly disagree that Liddell won the second round. Jardine scored the knock down and had the more effective strikes overall. 29-28 was the right decision.

Shogun looked winded big time. Usually we don't see MMA fighters that out of shape. Also, it was dumb of him to try and take the fight to the ground. He was winning when they were on their feet.

Fitch v.s Sanchez was the most exciting fight to watch. Great technical fight. Wish it went 5 rounds.

Both Griffin fights were great.

Damn, the UFC is badass.

I think Liddell should have won 29-28. Jardine knocked Liddell down once in the 2nd round, but he was also hit pretty hard near the end of the round. Either way, I think this fight may have saved Chuck from a beat down at the hands of Wandy. Chucks standup defense just isn't good enough, nor is his chin to be the Axe Murderer, imo.

Fitch/Sanchez was ok, but it was nowhere close to the Griffin/Tavares fight. That was the best fight of the night.

Also, seems to me, like some of the foreign fighters (Nog, CroCop, Shogun) are coming in from Pride unprepared. They seem to lacking in their movement around the cage and really haven't had the cardio that is needed. Hope that changes soon.

shogun looked like hell... totally gassed after the second round. liddel looked less than conditioned, too. these two losses mix everything up in terms of the superfights. wonder who fights silva now? the winner of that one will fight rampage.

Maybe Dan Hendersen?

Shogun did look like hell...was he ever out of shape. There is no way Griffin should have won. I am glad he did, but he doesn't have a chance against rampage.

i think henderson is going to go down to middleweight, where he also holds the pride belt... he might be the only guy who can beat anderson silva. that silva fights next month against franklin. i don't see franklin avenging his loss.

wanderlei silva's next fight might be against houston alexander. whenever and whoever, i hope its soon.

Chuck Lidell really looks past his prime. He was a major force several UFCs ago, but now he seems a bit paunchy and outclassed in his division. I was halfheartedly rooting for him to win because of his legacy, but even I had to admit that Jardine won that fight fair and square. Lidell had a couple stunning blows (as evinced with Jardine's many cuts) but Jardine had the knockdown and followed through.
