I went to my employer to get out of my contract. He agreeded to let me out of my contract with a release letter. Now he is going back on his word because I found a job earlier than he expected. It also happens that the teacher he had hired canceled on him. So now he is trying to make me stay. I already found another job with a public school. They have visa for me. My question is. Is it still possible for me to get a new job even though he hasn't canceled my contract.

I think if you have already submitted the letter of release to immigration and they have accepted it then your visa with that school is already cancelled.

So, you are no longer have to stay there.

It's not possible to have two E-2 visas at the same time.

Give immigration a call or get a Korean friend to do it to confirm who your visa is with.

I checked with immigration my visa was scheduled to be canceled. My new job called immigration for me. I didn't know anything about it until I went. I asked about not having a LOR they told me as long as I went out when my visa was cancled and went to Jpan with my new one it would be fine.
