I haven't seen it yet, but its suppose to be one of the hottest Korean dramas in Korea this summer.

Incidently, they often film scenes in HongDae near my apartment, so constantly seeing 100s of fans day and night taking picture of the 'Coffee Prince' sign and building.

I doubt it will be that hot.

If you want a hot drama of the year, I recommend the following:

" War of Money " ( 쩐의전쟁) or Air City is quite good 에어 시티

My wife watches it religiously, and she is not even Korean. I think it is remarkable for the fact that the storyline involves a gay romance.

What days and time and station is it on?

I heard Mondays and Tuesdays at 10pm, but didn't find it last night.

It is on Mondays and Tuesdays at a little after 10pm. ( Which also means that it ends a little after 11pm.) A Korean friend of mine begged to come over to my place to watch it, since she doesn't have a tv. She explained the story to me, and I just don't get it! So the prince runs a coffee shop, and only hires guys. One of the "guys" that he hires is really a girl (trying to make ends meet for her family after her father died.) who looks like a guy. The prince doesn't know that she is a girl, and unexpectedly finds himself falling in love with her. He even went to a doctor asking why this was happening. He finally finds out.. and now it's a love story. Weird.

Just like in the US, ratings mean squat when comparing the popular trash to the well written, less popular stuff.

I had no idea that foreigners in Korea actually watched Korean dramas. Trying to relive 80's American dramas I presume...

I've seen enough Korean dramas to know that, while some of them used the same old tripe for story, they all handle quite well. The music, the scenary, the filming locations and the acting can often be pretty damn good. Just enough so that, I can forgive them for rehashing plotlines. Sometimes they try too hard to be dramatic, but often it works. I see about 5 good Korean dramas in a year (out of about 20) so the ratio isn't that great, but the ones which are good are REALLY worth watching from beginning to end.

Also, if your a woman, you're gonna like them much more.. Laughing
