|
|
Just picked up a Samsung Anycall Show phone and tried to load some mp3's on it through the mini sd card but the phone won't read it. Does anyone know where I can download the software to convert mp3 to whatever format is needed? Tried looking on the Samsung site but couldn't read the Korean and couldn't find it on the international site.
Appreciated. |

This is a real pain. I don't remember the exact steps, nor do i care to follow them again. You can figure out how to do everything though from this site http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic50042.html and a little clicking around + patience + hopefully you have some computer skills + hopefully you have windows and not a mac or some other OS.
Basically you need to login at the anycall site using a the user/pass provided on the site i provided above. Download the PC manager software. And then use the mp3 section of the pc manager software to convert the mp3s to the proper format on the phone.
Once again this is a real pain. Good luck.
(Alternatively you can find something to convert to .SMP this is what the files are on my phone. If you can do that then use the Removable Disk option (if you have that) to copy them into the mp3 folder, that should work too) |

I know with SK Telecom, a lot of the MP3's gotta be converted using "Melon Player". It converts it to a DCF format.
If it isn't converted, it won't play. Of course, you can only convert one song at a time so it takes damn near forever to sit there and convert yoru song library one by one. |

Have it sorted now. Thanks for the info. What a pain in the arse though. Don't like the idea of having to log in everytime I want to put music on the phone. Some real consumer information mining going on.
I don't really listen to portable music too much, but it was annoying not being able to figure out how to use the mp3 player.
All good now. |

The phone people went away from allowing you to put .mp3s on your SD memory cards directly about 1 to 2 years ago. It was a combination of lawsuit fears and good ol' fashioned "we'd rather make money off of people trying to do this."
They want you to pay to download songs directly from them these days. Tis' going that way with photos, too. Most of the phones out there (unless you spend a little more for a nice model) don't even allow you to send photos to the mini-SD or a Transflash card. They want you to send it to an e-mail, so they can charge you for that, too. |
