Is there a website for expat cyclists to get together such as the rockclimbing site?
Is there an expat cycling community in Korea?

Good call, great idea! I'd be up for it.
On a related note, I'm looking for a road-style bike, but don't want to pay 2.x million won for a race-worthy ride - no Corex / Lespo, please. Does anyone know where in Seoul I can find a good selection of road bikes for under a million won?
Cheers,

Race-worthy for under 1 mil? I think you would have to get something used or maybe if you're lucky, Ebay. Dont buy anything from any shop here; the tariff will make the price way too high. There's are some Korean clubs with riders who are sometimes selling used bikes. www.corearoadbike.com or www.bikefriend.com or www.bicyclelife.net
You must know how to read korean, at least the same pathetically small amount I can read, to use those sites, however. |

Yes, there is a cycling community. There is a triathalon group that spends alot of time riding on the roads around Seoul:
www.seoulsynergy.com
They have regular rides on Saturday morning from Itaewon that go anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. If u are serious about riding you can PM me and I can get the guy who is sorta in charge of that ride to put you on the mail list.
Also, there is an even bigger group of MTB riders. The have a yahoo group that is like "mountain bike Korea". But their bias is against road cycling.
Just within the last couple of years, there have been some races popping up around Korea... Mostly hill climbs, but also a couple of criteriums. There will be a road race in September. PM me and I can tell u more... |

I have a quality MTB down here in the south but the trails suck so I'm doing mainly road rides which are quite nice.
So there isn't a website for cyclists then? anyone care to step up to the plate?
Seems like you are screwed unless you live in Seoul. I'm hopefully moving to Busan and I'd buy a good road bike (if I can find one in large, BMC can't supply a large) but I won't bother unless there is a scene.
I'd like to get serious again about cycling but I just need a good network of people to help me along. |

| What I meant was, I DON'T need a race-worthy bike - just something to get me moving down the Han River trails for a few hours at a stretch. Sorry if I was unclear. |

| If any not-so-serious bikers in Incheon want to ride, I usually go out on the weekends. 50-60 km at a leisurely pace with frequent stops. I know lots of good routes. |

I've already PMed Kurtz about this, but for future reference try www.mtbk-adventure.com or mtbk through yahoogroups.
Most of the expat riders I know are Seoul-based, but there are friendly Korean riding groups all over the country |
