| so, we're getting everything ready to get on the plane in 5 days, and fly to seoul, and the idea comes up that we could maybe bring some ps2 games we have here and play them on a korean ps2... or possibly get games in korea that could be played on an american ps2... obviously the outlet power is different between the us and korea, but is there any difference in the discs themselves? (apart from the obvious language difference) suggestions or recommendations much appreciated. |

I hate to say it guy, but PS2 games are region coded. meaning that NA games wont work on a Korean system and Korean games wont work on an NA PS2.
My advice is leave them at home and start anew, memory cards with etra space are good, but unless your bringing your system and games you wont be able to play them.
PS2s are pretty cheap here and most times games are availible in either Englsih or Japnese. Good luck guy. |

No it will not play Korean games. However, you can easily get it modded for like 40 bucks (maybe cheaper). If you do get it modded then you can download games, or buy coppies(less than 10 bucks). If your not into that scene then you'd have to get a second machine for Korea (I know at least one person that has a second machine for imports).
People try to sell their used PS2 on daves often so you could wait for one of those, just gotta be careful lots of times they are trying to get top dollar for them. I got one for free from a person on daves so I guess it goes both ways.
There are lots of places to get ps2 games so no worries. |

| If you bring your system there's a website that I use to get NA games. It's http://www,playasia.com They're based out of Hong Kong and they have a steller lineup of old classics and new releases. |
