All I'm gonna say is that I'm in another Asian country and see alot of Koreans. Supposedly high-level Hyundai employees to be exact. And to me their behavior is terrible. They complain about everything, yet they live like they are the only people in the world.
Let's see, I've seen them repeatedly spit and blow their noses in a 5 star hotel's swimming pool. They do the throat clearing thing and hoark all over the place (inside and outside). Throw their cigarette butts all over the ground. Litter like crazy!!!!!! For some reason they are unable to flush a toilet after using it. Wake everybody in the neighborhood up when they go golfing at 5am by slamming doors, yelling, honking horns, etc. Keep everybody up at night by getting so drunk that they smash beer bottles all over the floor because they can't hold onto them (and someone else has to clean it up). Yelling, fighting, you name it. It's after 3 am right now and they are pissed up sitting just outside my door, yelling 'Canadiaaaaaaaaan! Canadiaaaaaaaannnn!' even though they don't know me (someone told them I was Canadian), and I have to get up tomorrow morning but obviously they don't (what 40+ year old man acts like this?).
There's much more, but what's the point. It's the accumulation of all these things that just disgusts me. Hyundai should be embarrassed.
So my question is should Koreans try to behave differently when they travel to another country? These people are here for months at a time, and truly act like jackasses the entire time. In Korea, I can accept their shit behavior, but should they be able to bring it abroad?

Why limit it to just when they're abroad?

I'm trying to steer clear of the apologists.

But I'm sure they'll arrive soon anyways.

It could be worse... they could have been pissed up Brits.

'Ey, what are you looking at luv, ey... you lookin' for a fookin' slap in a minute. Who are you staring at eh etc'

And thats the women.

The men while wearing their favourie football shirts and tshirts with pictures of forlorn looking Argentine squaddies with their hands up on the back and a big union jack on the front with the legend THESE COLOURS DON'T RUN will either try to feel your arse and boobs while their mates are knocking sevel shades of shit out of your boyfriend if he doth protest.

I'm not defending the Koreans by the way, just package destinations
catered for tourists of a certain nationality are no fun. (If you are not of that nationality)

I could tell you about the time I bought a 120 quid last minute deal and ended up in El Arenal in Majorca... it was great, I had a choice of 84 kinds of bratwusrt to eat while listening to oompah music coming from the bars 24 hours a day with the rest of the holidaymakers, with their red bloated faces, big guts and their blond warlus moustaches nicking all the best spots on the beach! Evil or Very Mad

But I won't!!!

I mean, "should" they? Yeah, if they dont want to be banned in other asian countries, they should get the clue...

Personally, I think they should just change their behavior everywhere they go -- including in their own country. Until they do that, I could care less whether or not they get banned... actually, I would rather like to see Koreans banned from everywhere except Korea, so I will vote, "no, they should not change their behavior abroad".

If you're in the Philippines you could probably have them killed for less than the price of moving to a new, quieter hotel.

I'm just sayin'...

Koreans should act differently abroad, and they do. The problem is how they behave here in their own country:

Not long ago I went on a visa run to Japan. At the airport in Japan I saw a family that stuck in my mind - they were happy, seemed loving towards each other, and just seemed like NICE people. I remember thinking, "How refreshing... That middle-aged dad there seems so polite, caring and civil... Very happy guy... Too bad more middle-aged pops in Korea didn't act like that!"

A few hours later upon my return to Korea, I was waiting in line to go through immigration. Suddenly, from behind me I hear "AHH, si-bal! Way-guk-in.... blah blah... si-bal!", etc. It was the same guy I had remembered from the airport in Japan - obviously, turns out to be a Korean guy (I had earlier assumed he was Japanese). Now I thought, "This figures... Back in Korea, time for him to start acting like a tit again... Animal..."

When describing the behavior of Koreans, the French term Nouveux Riche comes to mind.
Koreans have recently landed into some money, but still have the manners of poor people.

Everday almost the elevator in my officetel has spit on the floor inside it and smells like cigarette smoke (despite the no smoking sign inside it).

Most Koreans have no clue how to act amongst foreigners. In an international context they are certainly out of their element.

Hence the reason I say they are an isolated nation with their own weird ideas. Hence the reason they wish to remain amongst Koreans, language being important, but not all encompassing.

I'd rather have some drunk adjosshis around than drunk British lads going around vandalising everything and causing fights. I'm British - I've seen it happen all too often.

people that travel in big groups always behave badly.

If koreans could just have the bravery to explore the world as individuals, they'd learn the ways of the world a lot quicker.

I just met seven Koreans in my week in Vietnam. In 3-solo-3 and none of them were at all assholes. They were all super nice and we had a nice chat about Korea, politics, etc.

Thats not quite true. I am constantly told "that when in rome I should act as the romans do". So they know that people should live according to the culture of the country they are in.

The last time I was told that was friday, I said I will keep it in mind when I get to rome, but I am living in korea.
