Last night I spent 5 hours at Yonsei Univ hospital. The doctors could not find out what is wrong with me. I think I need to see a GI doctor because I am having problems with my stomach. Can anyone recommend a good doctor that speaks some English? I also do not have health insurance at the time.

Should I go back to the hospital and try to see a GI doctor there? Will it be as much as I paid last night (500,000 won)?

There is a G.I. clinic in central Seoul. It is called SOK Clinic. The G.I. specialist is Kim Young Sun. Phone them at 02-963-1075. He can speak English but the receptionists can't. You will need a Korean friend to help you set up an appointment. Hope this helps. Get well soon.

Hope you are doing okay. Were you able to find out what the problem is? Up-dates when you feel better.

update:

I went into work on Monday, and talked to my director. Her husband is a doctor, so she called him and he recommended a doctor to me. I went there today (Tuesday), and got looked at. He and his staff were so nice, and although he did not speak much English, between me speaking the Korean I knew and him speaking the little English he knew, there was communication. I have to go back when I am feeling a little bit better, and I basically have a GI tract problem, just a temporary problem. I have been feeling better as the day is progressing, so hopefully I will feel better in a few days. If anyone is interested in seeing him, PM me for info. He was wonderful.

Why was it so expensive for your first visit?

At the hospital? I don't know. I have not been paying for my insurance lately because I haven't been using it (figures), so maybe that's why. The doctor told me " Because you are a foreigner, you pay 3x the amount that Koreans do."
